Does Tub resurfacing work? How does it look and how long does the new surface last?

I am looking at using a product from Abatron called KromaKote 8601-1 System. It's spayed on epoxy compound. I have seen tubs resurfaced before and they look good but do they last? How difficult is it to apply?

What a rip off, go buy a whole new tub between 100-300 bucks you're better off.

It'll last a year or two then it'll scratch easily. It's a waste of money.

It works great if you don't use it and abuse it . the refinish looks like the new fiberglass bathtubs its more of a liner because it covers the whole inside and if you have one of the old iron or castiron tubs that have 1 side of the tub showing the refinish kitt covers that to

Maybe if you hire a professional to do it. I bought a product and tried it a few years ago. Came out splotchy, and the pros charged me extra to remove it before they could do the job.

We hired a professioal to do a couple of cast iron tubs in fixer-uppers for us. Came out looking like new and has lasted 4-5 years now but we warn our renters to clean correctly. Much easier and cheaper than full tub replacemnet with ceramic tile.
