Im doing a report on hybrid technology and i need some help.if u know anything useful tell me or give a site?

ummm i know that ther are hybrid cars but what do they do 4 the environment? and how dot hey work give me anything u got answers or web sites

Hyrbrids get good gas mileage because they store the normally wasted energy of braking and other stuff into a battery rather then letting it go away. And note that the manual version of the Honda Insight and the Toyata Prius almost get 10 mpg better than their automatic counterpart.(transmission)

    supposedly all the electric coast and take off hybrids use more gas then what they would without the electric motor, but if they didnt have the electric motor the car would accelerate very very slowly. In europe they have SMART cars that use less gas than any U.S. hybrid. the SMART cars top out at 160mph and get 60-80mpg with a 1.1L twin turbo two cylinder engine. There is a new form of hybrid that only comes with SUVs that was originally designed for use on HUMMV's for marine recon, where the electric assists are on each wheel, instead of one big heavy electric motor attached to the fuel engine.
