Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

#1 - Eastern (includes NYC, numerous eastern coastal cities, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida)
#2 - Pacific, aka Western (California - 'nuff said)
#3 - Central (Chicago and Texas metropoli)
#4 - Mountain (Denver and not much else)

This is an estimate only. If you want specific figures, you may want to get an almanac (like the World Almanac and Book of Facts), look up a time zone map and table of state populations - like your teacher probably intended.
