I believe we should make drop-outs go in to the service. They might as well do some good with their lives and benefit America. The military is a great option for people who don't like school, college and other institutions. I also think this will be a great deterrent.

There are laws in some locations - not being in school is called truancy. Loitering, underage smoking or drinking and such you are given a ticket or picked up and you have to go to court.

The same law and penalties that would be applied to the teaching institutes for not having the means and courses to keep all the students.
The same law that would be needed for bullying or reasons that maybe , to make someone want to drop out.
We are all individual, some of us cannot for what ever reason be in the confines of schools for various reasons.
You should ask yourself this question, What motivates a person to drop out of school, im sure if you asked enough drop outs you would find your answers will be quite different from one individual to the next.
I dropped out because I needed the money more at the time than I needed the politics of school, and the one sided reasoning for the wealthy. Unfortunately that was a wrong choice at the time, but no penalty would have stopped me from doing so, I did what I did because it was my choice to make.
Do we, In this so called Democracy,Make the choices for others, or let those with free will make up thier own minds? right or wrong!

The sorry state of public schools...I wouldn't make it against the law. Who are anyone to judge what that child does out of school after 16. In England, teens are finished with school at 16. They can decide for themselves. And who's to say they aren't being homeschooled or seeking an education on their own?!

It's laws like this that rip our freedom to decide our lives or our children's lives.
