Dave Pasternack is the embattled CEO of did-it.com, an advertising agency/Pay-Per-Click marketing firm. He has been criticized for greatly oversimplifying the practice of organic search engine optimization, which to some SEO practitioners, is considered a dangerous and even unethical position to espouse, as simple SEO mistakes have been responsible for ruining the search engine rankings of many online businesses. Many of these businesses depend on these rankings to the exclusion of all other forms of marketing, so a sudden drop in search engine rank is typically quite damaging to a company without alternative, defensible ways of driving visitor traffic to a commercial website. For this reason and others, Dave Pasternack's pronouncements have raised a considerable stir, and many satirical/humorous web pages, created by indignant SEO professionals, have lately been popping up as a result. A search for "dave pasternack" in Google, Digg, Netscape or Technorati will probably unearth several stories of this type.
