How do you use Aloe spikes?
I have 3 Aloe Vera plants with droopy outer spikes, I know they need to be removed to give the healthy spikes a chance, but I don't want to just throw them on the compost. How do I preserve the juicy bit to store for future use? I have tried refrigerating the spikes but they just turn black and yukky.
Does anyone have any tips or recipes for remedies etc?

the best way to store them is in a sealed box. Also there are 100's of different kinds of aloe. Make sure you dont have the irritant type. The best way to apply it is straight from the leave. Trim up eash side with a knife taking the spines off. The split up the centre with a knife and voila, you can use the both sides and apply stright from the leave.

squeeze out the fleshy juice and store in the fridge, or better still use it straight away
