If you go and try to access the websites today, they're not functioning. At least they aren't for me right now. I read through a lot of the stuff and I'm inclined to think it's a scam. Also, for the company being started in New York, with employees who are from Universities in England - the English and grammar in the site were sub-par. Also, I inquired what to do about applying - I wanted to know what they would say.

Here is what I have found about haworth-solutions.com, haworth-solutions-mail.com, www-firstusa.com, www-serfreport.com, and www-news.biz. It's rather interesting...

From this you can see that all three "Partners" are all on the same server and the domains are all registered to the same individual. All three of the sites are also running on the same Web Server!

This is definitely a SCAM or Money Laundering gig.

    Hi,
I too was very curious about the whole thing and thought it was a scam (as most are!!). I set up with them and gave some info (they never asked for my SS#) but they do request your bank acct info. Because I also do research on these things, scams, etc., I already have a protected bank account set up just to see if they actually scam you or not. So, again, I set things up with them, and so far, even though I cannot speak for anyone else, I have not had any trouble with them at all. I have one set *supervisor* that I report to, via emails, and any question or concern I have had she has answered within 24 hours. Now, I still am very cautious with them, but like I said before, I have not had any troubles as of yet. I do want to GREATLY express that if you try them or any other that you really check them out (although like someone else previous, I was unable to find out any info about www.haworth-solutions.com except that they are in partnership with some credit card company or credit company that I cannot remember the name of at the moment but if I do I will come back here and post it.). Also, be sure that you check out any of these almost too good to be true companies before you start anything with them - better safe than sorry, ya know? If I do have any trouble, I will come back and post here as well. Thanks & good luck!

Hello I just received the same e-mail. I too believe its a scam however I have not see any negative feedback like some other companies that have tried to contact me. I personally would not try it, because there is like no guarantee if anything goes wrong, not like u speak to anyone in person @ an office building. The best thing u can do if u want to try it make a bank account with like 10 dollars in it and hook up with the company see where it goes. Good luck feel free to e-mail me with whatever the outcome is.

I received the same email - word for word as quoted in other answers just today - and it seems to be a scam if only for some of the information on their website, not to mention the poor english of the person who wrote the email, who claims to be a senior manager of a highly profitable New York based brokerage and finance company. And my name is really Elvis Presely! They are asking for me to make Western Union money transfers to people I don't know (drug dealers most likely!) as part of an "escrow" service for Yahoo shopping and eBay buyers. Firstly, Western Union make it very clear that under no circumstance should you send money to anyone that you don't know (derr!!) and eBay only recommends (based on the eBay help pages - please check for yourself to confirm this) using an escrow service via escrow.com and unless this Haworth group are just recently listed, I could not find this company listed there! Escrow services are for when you buy from someone overseas and if you don't have a credit card or Paypal for example, you pay the Escrow agent who then pays the supplier once you receive the goods. Of course the problem with some Escrow services or agents is that when they get your money, you never hear from them again and there is no strong way to be certain of having the law catch up with them so I would get a credit card or Paypal for online purchases.....anyway, the other thing to note as was mentioned in one of the other answers already given is that if it appears to good to be true, guess what? It is too good to be true. NEVER give out your full name, bank account details, and date of birth EVER! The people that you really want to know those details about you already know them and never need to ask, especially not online. Finally - notice the secure sites on the internet have https:// - if it does not have the s after the http:// then it is probably a scam website. This Haworth sounds like a mouney laundering scam mixed with a few legitimate transactions and nothing more.

I also have participated in this opportunity...I have been approved and accepted to the position Financial Manager. Now I cannot access the website....Luckily I only had about 10-20 dollars in that account. No withdrawals have been made yet, but It's only been 1 day after the holiday. I would not recommend trying this to anyone with a substantial amount of $ in their account. Please keep us posted if they have propositioned you as well.
**update**I have e-mailed them with the log on problem. I got a very prompt response. They were saying that they were having technical difficulties with the site. The website is now available and I am able to log in. If anyone else tries this please update your answer. I guess it's a wait and see kind of thing. I am still not going to keep much $ in my account (just in case) Will keep you updated on progress.

Very simply put, this does not pass the sniff test. No telephone number? Where did they learn english? They want your bank account to use to pass money to people? At best this sounds like money laundering. At worst, it sounds like a variation on the Nigerian scam.

I am looking for work at the moment and i put my resume on seek.com.au so that possible employers could read it and contact me if they had a suitable postion BIG MISTAKE!!

I recieved an email from ''Mark Karels" from Haworth solutions saying that he had found my cv and wanted to offer me a job in the financial services department! great i thought, even better when i read that it was work from home two hours a day!! fro OTE $4500.00 australian!!!!

i should of known it was a fake when i tried to open the links but none of them would open, and when i searched in google nothing came up, except for some old guys company that sells office furniture??!

i took the printed off emails to my mum so she could read them, she knew straight away it was a scam, i showed her some webpages, and she said they were page scrapes or something and that i was just a fake homepage and if u click on the links they wouldnt work, sure enough they didnt. Mum emailed the federal government asking if they knew about this, they replied saying they didnt but it sounded like a commen internet scam and to disregard it completly..Mum said it sounded like money laudering and why dont they just use paypal or something like that or transfer from bank account over the internet! "family expenses" as they stated to use for the explaination is just pure money laundering, and who knows what the "product" is, it could be anything

I Cant believe i nearly got sucked in, i nearly gave them all my banking details and my id!!!!
Just the chance of making easy money sucked me in!! i hope no-one has/will fall for this!!
I dont even have any money to steal these people are fkn *******S!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i hope no one gets sucked in cos they will go to jail for a long time, ignorance is no excuse, and who knows if these people would come after you if you try to get out of it...

oh and to ric... that said no money has been taken from his account, think about the things i wrote, why would they get someone to "watch" there bank account continuously, etc etc, why wouldnt they just use paypal or something similar like an online internet banking transfer, they are trying to leave no paper trail.. if you do do this you will be in big trouble when the bank see's big money coming in and then straight out, they are trying to avoid gst etc its most likely drug money, but who knows.
and just because no money has been taken from your account doesnt mean they havent opened 20 different credit cards with 20.000 limits on them already!! be careful everyone please!!

I too received the email today.

After researching it online, I have to come to the conclusion that it is a scam.

My #1 reason for beliving this is because when you go their homepage and click on partners, they have three "official" sounding links.
however, if you click on the link, it comes up as www-firstusa.com and it mirrors the firstusa.com page.....notice that the www ends with a - and not a .
For that reason, and that reason alone, I believe this place is a scam.

    Plus, they ask for age.
You cannot ask for age when applying for a job.
The hiring person may ask if you are over a certain age and if you can prove it, but they may not ask your age.

So, I would not do anything.

I will say this much tho.....I had a friend who was involved in one of these things before and he got paid. Actually, he made about 350USD a day....then the cops arrested him for money laundering.
He was faced with 40 years in prison.....he is still fighting this in the courts.
The DA didnt believe that a guy his age, 30, would fall for something so simple paying that much money.

    Just FYI.

hey, I also got the email from them. I almost send them my details, but fortunately I tried google-ing again on Haworth and found this thread. I suspected that they are scam, but I still wanted to give it a try. I'm just gonna ignore their emails now. Thanks for all of you who answered this question!

I received the same email as everyone else 3 days ago. It sounded sus as it went straight to my spam box. I got the same email again today so curiosity made me look into it. There are too many scam warnings involved and the ones that said it's ok probably came from the scam sources anyway so take care and beware!

I just received the same email today. I've been searching for a job in the Houston area and received a ton of scam emails. I believe this is one of them. Here is a list of possible scamming companies that I've found, hope it will help you out.

The list is a bit long....don't know if it's good or bad luck that you can't find the name on here.

some of these imitates existing companies name so don't get them mix up.

I also recieved this position listing and because of this thread Im staying away from Haworth. And I'd like to point out that the one person that was in agreement with the Haworth job has only answered once on this thread. I have been on that side of a PR scheme and "carolinagirljkp" is trying to add favorable information. If I were workin within Haworth, I searched our name and the first listing was this thread--Id make sure to take control of that quick. So everyone keep speaking your mind and question when new members enter with cool slang words and an up-beat,perky, promational writing style.

I received the very same e-mail. The funniest thing is that although they "found [my] CV at monster.com," I haven't updated my resume or been active on monster for over two years.

It's a scam. I suggest flooding them with phony responses.
