Why do spiders come inside and how do I keep them out?

Question

I've seen two big spiders in my apartment in the last week. They were black, maybe dark dark brown and about 1" in diameter. I live in Los Angeles. I don't know what kind of spiders they were or if they were dangerous, but they were scary. How I can keep them out?? I've never had a problem before. I'm not sure if it's the time of year that they want to come indoors or if I'm doing something different that's attracting them inside.

caulk all the holes and cracks yu can find the spray outside with spider killer around yur foundation of the house

I hear you prevent all sorts of insects by keeping an osage orange inside of your house. It's a green fruit from a common tree in North America and has visual similarities to a brain.

Spiders may come in through your garage, down a chimney or other crevases. Once they are inside, they like to lay eggs under your sofa and other furniture. I had spider problems at my last house. When I moved, I got rid of all the old furniture and got new stuff. I haven't had a problem at my new place since.

get a sticky pad and lay it on the ground- that will cause them to stick and die- or call Orkin.
