Which singer from "Dreamgirls" should win an Oscar nomination for her performance...Beyonce or Jennifer?

Oh my gosh, who are these people who are saying that Beyonce should win an Oscar? Apparently, I must be the only person who has actually seen the film (thanks to the premiere) and Jennifer Hudson blew Beyonce wayyyyyy out the waters. Beyonce didn't even have that many lines in the whole film and they nominate her for a Golden Globe? Maybe they didn't see the movie either... but the very few lines she did have were NOT even all that well acted, plus the trailers make her look like she is the main character of the movie --- which she isn't. I would have thought SHE was the supporting actress. Hudson, on the other hand, is an extremely talented actress for this to be her first film and she beats Beyonce in acting hands down. Most of the story was about Hudson and she even had most of the lines in the whole movie! I like Beyonce, but some people just have natural acting talent (like Hudson) and others don't.

I do believe Jennifer has already been nominated for an award. Globe, I think. But as for my personal opinion, I can't say. Haven't seen the film yet.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but from what I hear it seems like Jennifer is the one who will be most acclaimed and will probably win the Golden Globe as well as an Oscar nomination.

I haven't seen Jennifer in action but I have seen Beyonce on the big screen numerous times and I don't believe she has the acting talent (...on her best day) to be Oscar worthy. However, I do believe she's a great singer and a very beautiful young woman!

Based on her previous movie performances, I'd say Beyonce lost this one. She's not an actress, though God bless her for having the balls to make the move.

Based on what I've seen during sneak peak week here in SA, I'd say Jennifer's way better than B in the movie.

Jennifer Hudson should win an Oscar hands down! For those who don't know who she is, she has been compared to Aretha Franklin when Aretha was young. Jennifer took on a hard role as Effie White and she did justice to it. Having to belt out the famous "And I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going" was a testimony on it's own that she deserves an award like an Oscar.

this is a no brainer... unequivocally Ms. Jennifer Hudson should win, i have no doubt that she not only will get nominated but she will be awarded the Oscar...hence, she should have also been named the lead actress for this movie... Ms. Beyonce Knowles played a good role but it is far from an Oscar, as Ms. Hudson was extraordinarily great in every aspect, hands down! She received a standing ovation at the theatre for the movie, now if that isn't a spectacular performance, i don't know what is. Go Jennifer!

I have seen the premiere in NYC and can objectively say that Beyonce is a pretty girl with a good voice, but cannot make the big screen, I think she will stick to her grammys, but on the other hand Jennifer Hudson is Oscar Material and Grammy Material, she has a voice like no other and is a natural on the screen, she is Amazing! She delivered a powerful performance that is unmatched by Beyonce or any other... No one can top Jennifer.
