Ring them up and ask them, they should have no reason to refuse if you give them a good reason why.

Under UK law...any REGISTERED ot Limited company (with a turnover or profit or 65000 GBP) has to include their VAT registration details on any company documentation (stationary) they send out

It is usually printed at the bottom under the dividing line (if the dividing line exists)

The first thing to do is to ring them up and ask them. Companies are not under any obligation to tell you there VAT number however, unless they are issuing you with a VAT invoice and you are a VAT registered company. HMRC also will not give you the VAT number, they can only confirm that a VAT number is registered to a specific company at a specific address.

Looking at there website, they are a financial services company. Many financial services are exempt from VAT and if they only make exempt supplies, they cannot register for VAT. Such companies are mainly regulated by the FSA.

Its supposed to be written on any letters they send you - especially letterheaded paper! Check the bottom of the page! In fact its supposed to be on any documentation that carries the companys logo and details etc!
