The color wheel is broken down into 6 different primary and secondary colors. Anything with an ash base means that the primary pigmentation of that particular color is from the cool side of the wheel and it's meant to cancel warm colors. However, depending on which cool color your base is (Green, violet or blue) that will dictate what warm color it will cancel (Red, orange or yellow). The term "Light Brown" only refers to the level of color. In hair color the level refers to the amount of pigment or how light or dark it is. Level 1 is the darkest (black) and level 10 is the lightest (Pale yellow)
