depends on how much you are willing to pay.
teenage girls love any cosmetics, or bath products (anything to pamper themselves)
also iPods, mp3 players, digital cameras, so on.
most of the time it also depends on the girl herself. like what are her interests?
If she is into art then perhaps get her some new paints. if she likes music, then get her a CD or a giftcard to a music store.
usually girls LOVE clothes and shopping, so if you dont want the trouble of picking out a gift, then get her a gift card to her favorite store or to the mall.

I give all the girls purses filled with lotion, lip gloss, tissues, gum, mints, earrings, and MONEY. You can go to the travel aisle at the drug store and they sell small lotions and other things for usually less than $1 each.

They can be hard to buy for as they have their own sense of style and music. I would suggest a gift certificate to Bath & Body Works or to a Music Store....Jewelry could work too.

Appearance to girls coming of age in their teen is every thing. Trust me the only thing teen girls want is money for clothes. If you gave them a gift card to their favorite store and told them to independently pick out the clothes they wanted you would be the saint of xmass. For teenage girls these days it itsn't always important what the gift is it's where you get it
Make Up: Sephora carries all the major brands...clinique, christian dior, mac, sephora, nars you name it they have it
Jewlery: it is all about tiffany's and silver gold isn't big anymore
clothes: American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch, Nordstom, bloomingdales, Juicy (the best sweatsuits), 7 for all mankind, true religion, northface, BCBG
accessories: coach, louis, D&G, D&B
