Is there way to dissolve dried paint in order to remove it?

I am looking for a solvent which can remove dried paint. I know there are chemicals which can reduce the thickness of wet paint which is in liquid form and hence dilute it. But is there a way to do that with dried paint?

Yes use a stripper. It is some extremely toxic stuff. You just brush it on and let it sit for a little bit then you use a scraper or wire brush to remove the paint. It will take it down to the original wood. Check your local hardware store or lumber yard.

there's a product called "oops" that i've used to get latex paint off of my carpet. it's wonderful (albeit somewhat toxic) stuff that apparently removes almost any kind of stain from carpeting or upholstery.
