It depends - is it the controlled-release or immediate release formulation?

According to the FDA:
"The apparent elimination half-life of oxycodone following the administration of [Controlled-Release] OxyContin® was 4.5 hours compared to 3.2 hours for immediate-release oxycodone."

It takes 24-36 hours to get the body into "steady state" levels of oxycontin. By 36 hours, the bioavailability of a single 80 mg pill has been reduced to 1/256th of the original. By 45 hours, it is down to 1/1000th.
