What is the most stupid animal in the world?

I am trying to research into which animal is the most stupid in the world overall and not just based on brain size, social interaction etc.

It must be the domestic turkey. Some have been known to drown in a heavy rain shower because they didn't realize that it would be dry and safe inside their hutches! Others are so brainless that they can't even remember how to eat, and must be fed by the farmer.♥

It depends on how you define "stupid." Each organism has it's own instincts, brain size, etc. What is smart or stupid to them...might not make sense to you or I...but that is their world. ; ) Make sense? Everyday I watch cats outside play, or bugs begging to get through the window because my light is on inside. I don't understand their logic...but it makes sense to them.

Actually, there's a difference between ignorance and stupidity. Ignorance is when you don't know any better, when you lack knowledge. Stupidity is when you know better, when you have the knowledge, but you ignore the knowledge you have. It's difficult to judge in an animal sometimes if an action of theirs is due to ignorance or stupidity.

I'd like to be a cynic and say that an animal that lives among humans and constantly places their trust in them in general seems to be somewhat stupid. You'd think they would have learned by now.

turkeys are very dump they will wait before a closed gate that stands on its own in a field with out fences on either side.

Sheep. They literally cannot take care of themselves; they have to have a human to shepherd them. And even when they do have someone caring for them, they will keep trying to do stupid stuff, like drink polluted water even when there's fresh nearby, or follow each other right over a cliff, or eat stuff that isn't good for them...they have no sense at all.

Jellyfish have no brains so that's pretty stupid. Clams don't have a brain either. I saw a bee once slam itelf into the same spot of a window like 20 times, over and over, to try to get out and that's pretty stupid. Most humans would slam into an invisible barrier just once and not keep slamming themselves into the window over and over.
