These are the kinds of things you should ask a pharmacist or your doctor - you tend to get way too many uninformed answers on an open forum like this. Just a suggestion!
The old albuterol, and any other similar brand-name inhaler like Ventolin, etc., are no longer available as of a few months ago. Your doctor will likely now prescribe Ventolin HFA (not sure whether the other brands have the same HFA designation or something different) which has a different propellant that doesn't harm the ozone layer. In my case, unfortunately, the insurance company no longer considers it a Level I drug but a Level II, which means my copay is now $30 per month instead of $7. Hopefully the insurance companies will eventually catch up.
