What is litmus paper strips?

Basically, small pieces of paper that you can dip into a substance/liquid and the paper will change color. If the substance is an acid, it will turn yellow to red, if it is a base it will be green to blue.

if you put them in a solution, they change colors depending if they are more acidic or more of a base!


If you've ever used a PH kit for your fishtank, it's almost the same thing.... without the paper.

Ok Litmus paper is little strips of treated paper that test the PH/acidity of a liquid.

You can make some yourself by boiling fairly average pieces of purple cabbage. Then taking the purple juice and soking tissue paper in it after it is cool. Then let the tissue paper dry!
