Finasteride/Propecia and pregnancy?
There are many conflicting reports on the internet about the effects of sperm containing finasteride and pregnant women. I'm confident that my wife's conception whilst I was taking the medication will cause our baby no problems, however, I'm not so sure whether unprotected intercourse whilst preganant carries any risks.
Does anybody have any any experience of childbirth where the mother was exposed to finasteride/propecia?

I'd like to know about this too.
They say that a woman about to become pregnant or that is pregnant shouldnt even handle the medicine. This worries me,
also my fiance (who takes propecia) told me he cant give blood because if given to a woman might cause birth defects in her child. If giving blood does this, why not semen???
Any doctors out there who know about this?

The following is an extract from a professional drug handbook, I would say you need to use a condom and seek professional advice.
" Both dutasteride and finasteride are excreted in semen and use of a condom is recommended if sexual partner is pregnant or likely to become pregnant. Women of childbearing potential should avoid handling crushed or broken tablets of finasteride and leaking capsules of dutasteride."
