Teacher assistant at the college level?

I work at a research university and notice the Profs hire their grad students as teacher assistants. What about those of us who have grad degrees and don't want to quit our present day jobs but might want a part time job as a teacher assistant at the college/university level? How would I go about finding those type of jobs - someone who would check the papers for the profs?

For the most part, the system is set up so that grad. students earn some of their stipend by "TAing" a specified amount. I think you will have a hard time finding a university or even a professor who wants to work outside this system. (Grad. students are a dime a dozen.)
