I have a squirrel on my roof chewing on metal gutters several times a day, making lots of noise. Any ideas?

I don't think he's damaging anything, but he's waking us up. It's 3 stories up, not easily accessible. My neighbor got him with a paintball, but it doesn't seem to bother him.

You actually have several choices. You can use dried mustard or red pepper around the base of the gutter to keep him from getting in there. But, you will have to constantly reapply everytime it gets wet. You can use a product at the base called squirrel away available in little packettes for less than a dollar at feed stores, pet stores and some discount stores. (Yardlover also has one on their website in larger quantities). You can spray Repell on the gutter which you can get at Petco. Or you can install gutter guards which are a mesh netting designed to keep critters out of the gutters but you will have to put it at the base once you are sure he's off the roof. You can lure him out by putting some peanuts at the base of the gutter leading away from it.

A strong pellet gun, enough to kill him.

Then you can skin him, cut he little head and footies off, gut him, and once he is good an naked, wash him down to get rid of little hairs that might be on him. Cut him into pieces, brown him in a skillet with cooking oil or butter and then add one can of Cream of Chicken soup to him, and let him simmer for about 45 minutes. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes and any veggie that you like.

If it happens to be a rat, I would not eat him and you can do whatever you want to with him.
