How to smoke a joint?

I just ordered some herbal joints online (not marijuana) but i've never smoked a joint before, is it much different than a cigarette or smoking from a pipe?

You could like Clinton and smoke it but not inhale.

The way you smoke a marijuana joint is to take a deep breath inhale and try to hold it in your lungs as long as possible. Usually the first time you try this or if the stuff is really strong you wind up hacking your lungs out. The idea is to get the THC into your bloodstream so you can feel the intoxicating effects.

With regular tobacco pipe smoking, you don't inhale at all just hold the smoke in your mouth so you can enjoy the flavor effects. AS you can see these are two totally different ways of smoking.

Are these herbal joints intended to get you high or what? There have been a number of legal alternative natural substances (e.g. yohimbe et al) that purported can make you high but its all really a bunch of BS and a waste of money. If they really could make you high, somebody would have already made them illegal.

smoke it like a cigarette, but be careful for runs.

a run is where the paper burns faster in one part than the other, which is common because of the odd shape/consistency of the filling. if you start to get a run, lick your finger and put a little spit near the base of the run, to prevent it from burning down faster in that area.

other than that, since i dont know what the filling is, i'd say hit it carefully at first, and just taste the smoke in your mouth, like a cigar. if it's not too heavy, THEN inhale like a cigarette.

It's a lot different. When you inhake on a cigarette you immediately blow the smoke out, when pulling on a blunt (nobody smokes joints any more) you pull longer and hold the smoke longer and blew it out slow.

i must say im a lil dissapointed that they are only herbal joints, but n e ways. hold it in the middle, not putting to much pressure on it. then inhale from the opposite side that you lite. capeesh? not 2 hard

Don't.
Just because something claims to be herbal, doesn't make it safe. You don't know what side effects it could have.
Getting high, done with thee assistance of drugs, even herbal ones, doesn't last. Then you have to do more, more often to get the same buzz - It's just not worth it.
Live your life, be happy in it, or work, through traditional means, to improve it. Don't risk your health on something fleeting.
