It is very important that you discuss this with your doctor(s), and make sure they listen to you. I was diagnosed with depression several years ago and took celexa and then lexapro. When I would start the meds it would give me a huge initial boost because my body chemistry had a response to the meds. But after that initial jumpstart (long enough for the doctors to say I was ok), I would fall back into a depressive cycle. I'm now on lithium and depakote, and have a lot more balance. Nothing is ever going to make you feel perfect, or happy all the time. But if you still find yourself being depressed, talk to your doctor. I had to go through three different psychatrists before I found one that would sit down and listen to my whole history. I would recommend WebMD, they have a good section on Bipolar.
