Could I get rid of pantry moths by painting the cupboards in and out?

I got rid of all the food in bags and boxes yesterday. I have washed everything that was in the cupboards and the cupboards themselves. I haven't seen any worms today, but there are still a few moths. I know it might take a few weeks for all the moths/worms to die, if I continue to wash the cupboards daily. Can I paint the cupboards today inside and out to get rid of them instead of waiting a few weeks? Thanks.

I would just use pantry moth traps - we had a problem with pantry moths from bird food, which we now keep in the freezer, which helps. The traps don't smell and they have really taken care of the problem. The traps are difficult to find though - I usually by mine on Ebay. Here's a link to the one that I used:
