My indoor cane plant is to tall how do I trim and replant the cutting?

Its to tall for my house and I don't want to kill it.

    If it is like the one I had in my apartment you can just saw it off at a few feet. Then it should start to send new "branches" from off the side with leaf heads on them. Just make sure that it isn't root bound or it will have a hard time establishing new growth.
    As for cutting and replanting the cutting, I really don't think you can. If you wanted to try with the part you cut off I would get some root stimulator, or there is a dip you can buy just for starting roots from a cutting, and try that.
