Is there a generic brand for singulair?

Question

I will soon have no med insurance and am hoping to be able to replace the Singulair with a very close Over-the counter alternative? Is there one out there? I have really bad asthma and currently use this and a steroid inhaler, The Dr. says there is no real replacement, but there has to be an alternative to not having anything at all....

NO...there is no generic of Singulair available yet. There are no over the counter products that are similar.

you may want to try claratin (loratadine is the generic brand) it works fine too.

No there is NO generic brand of Singulair b/c Im on it too. I'm on the generic Claritin ( Loratidine). I get it from Walmart under 18.00 for 2 bottles ( packaged together 60 tablets, I bought 3 packages and now I have enuff for 360 days) almost a full year plus I take Singulair too.

Get the doctor to write you a 3 month supply of the Singular before your insurance runs out. This will give you time to get some more insurance. My lil sister takes this medicine and her doctor always writes a 3 month supply. You mail in the prescription and you get you're meds in a like a week. I will give you the link of the people we use. You have nothing to worry about it is a real sight with real doctors in the USA.

I have found the generic brand to Singulair it is Montelukast Sodium. I found this on the Singulair website. (i will leave you that link too)

No luck. It has not gone out of patent yet. Only other alternative for singulair in that class is accolate.
