Do pressure washers work, If?

Question

instead of connecting it to a faucet via garden hose, you syphon the water to the pressure washer from a barrel of water? In theory it sounds like it would work, has anyone tried it?

yes that works too

it works but you'll run out of water quickly

never tried it, but would think not, reason saying that is that the garden hose is under pressure from the house, mos the time about 60 psi.......not sure if this pressure is used on the machine...
