Why is my airconditioning unit dripping water inside my house?

If it is REALLY REALLY humid where you are, it could be just making too much water for the unit to handle.

See if your drain pan is overfull or if it is bent

Inside the ac unit, there is a place which a small water hose connects to and pour in small amount of water.......The purpose is to get the water molecules into the ac to generate cold air.
The place is called drain pan, and simply a pan.
It does gets overflow sometimes, when it happens you will see the water dripping out of the ac unit....and to your house....and makes you mad(I believe, it annoys you, right?)

You need to make sure that it is leaning back some so that the water will flow to the back and it can drip outside

Drain tube is clogged probably. Also, check the pitch of your A/C unit. Outside should be slightly lower.

the air it is cooling has water vapor in it that condenses when cooled by the A.C. it then flows to the lowest spot it can get to probably your floor.....(check the drain holes in the bottom of the ac and see if it can be tilted back towards the outside if its a window unit.

Check to see if it is dripping outside. if it is not, maybe an insect built a mud nest in the drain opening in the underside of the unit.

Also check to see if the filter on the inside is excessively dirty.

The unit should be sitting level in the window.

your air conditioner should be at at 30 degree anle or going a little tilt downward on the outside of your window so water can go outside

It may be possible that the drain in your drip pan has not been punched open or if it is then there may be a blockage that is causing an overflow.
Another possibility is that condensation may be forming due to an over abundance of humidity that this summers heat has brought down upon us all.

One of two things.Check to see if the unit is slightly tipped to the outside of the house and not towards the inside so the water can drain outside and not in.The second thing is the drain it's self may be plugged.I usually drill an additional hole for extra drainage on my air conditioners.Hope this helps.
