I have found a (3 in.) green catepillar on my chili plants. It has a spike on one end. What are they?

no hair, pea green, small eyes down its side, long spiked horn on one end, very fat

Sounds like a tomato worm. They will eat other plants if planted close to tomato plants. Use Sevin in powder form, just sprinkle it on and re-apply after rain. Usually available at garden centers and hardware stores. Hope this helps.
