How do I end SPAM emails once and for all ?

Get rid of your email address or send all your mail to bulk and delete it as soon as it comes in without looking at it.
Spam email will always be around because as soon as a system comes up to defeat it they modify the system.

I suggest that if you don't want the biggest part of Spam email that you use a disposable email address when you order or buy things that you don't mind changing from time to time and only give your private email to your immediate friends and family and tell them not to bulk mail your address out to others. That is how a lot of spam gets started by people clicking a group name and mailing jokes and things out.

Do not have an e-mail account. Otherwise you need to get really good spam filtering software, preferably on the mail server and not your pc. I use Spam Assasin to mark spam and have outlook automatically move the spam to a folder marked as such. My spam in my inbox is almost non-existant except for my adelphia which does not offer any server based filtering.

Sadly you're going to get a new email address. This happened to me, and I got so fed up with the spam that I just had to get a new email. Trust me, when you get a new one, you won't regret having a clean, empty inbox! I know it can be sad to leave your old email address, especially if you've had it for a long time, but you'll get used to your new one in due time.

This is going to take some time, but the following things worked for me:

Trace the IP addresses and forward the SPAM to the provider. You can use a WHOIS inquiry. You can get the IP address from the full headers.

Opt-out (usually doesn't work)

Use your filters (if you have any available). At work, we use Outlook, so I can't see the headers. I set up 2 Rules which filters out all SPAM.

Run spyware or a similar software once a week to get rid spyware, which can contribute to SPAM.

If the SPAM is to something physical, call them up and cuss them out!

The above methods work, but they are very time consuming, and you have to be persistent. I did this for Yahoo! mail, which is my primary account. I get maybe 1 SPAM a week in my inbox, the rest goes to bulk. I gave up trying with Hotmail and Mail.com. My SBCGlobal is crazy.

If I can remember anything else, I'll post it.

Oh, with Yahoo!, use their SPAM button, it works. You will have to check your Bulk folder every so oten to make sure valid emails didn't go there (mail from Craig's List or Overstock.com).

People above suggested getting a new email address. Depending on the provider, you will get SPAM. My SBC mailbox was FULL of SPAM in 2 weeks when I first got it last year.

Make Two email accounts
-Use one for personal use
-Use other for signing up for websites, etc.

i don't think there is any way to end them forever. the best thing i can think of is to start a new email account and don't use it for anything except emailing people you know. don't subscribe to any newsletters or anything like that.

It's nearly impossible.
You might give someone your email address who doesn't disclose that they will share your information with "partners", and WHAM!, you're hit with unwanted spam again. Marketers have sneaky ways of sending you spam; I've given up on trying to avoid it. I ask them to remove, and if they don't, I send their address to the FCC address below.

Only if you change your email address and ONLY give it to friends or family (and there's no guarantee that they won't accidentally put you on some list serve) can you stop the spam.

At the bottom of most spam is fine print with a link that reads, "unsubscribe". Click that link, it should work. DO NOT GET A NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS. Also, get a new address for promotions, stuff like that. Belive me, once I received 347 spam emails in 24 hours, you don't want to make the mistake I did... lol

Open the unwanted mail and go to the end to unsubscribe. Some you only click to unsubscribe & others you have to put your address in.
It takes a while but they do end.

Well I am not sure that they can be stopped all together, but here is a tip to cut them back, open the email up and click on the unsubscribe button, opt out button.but if you find out how to get rid of them all together let us all know,You will be famous.

if you have a friend on gmail ask them to invite you to it cause it is spectacular and you have no spam problems.

For me, they just go into my bulk folder.

Trust me: I spam/block some of them, but they still DON'T GO AWAY FOR GOOD.

try to stop from signing up into unreliable sites and make sure that you are only using it in those sites that you really need.

try also to turn your spam blockers ON which is equipped in your email so it will all go to this folder and not mix with those important ones...

i was getting one on a regular basis every day, i went to the bottom of it an clicked the "unsubscribe " but still got it every day an sometimes twice a day, i got so mad (BIG MISTAKE HERE) i went to the bottom an hit the "unsubscribe " 10 times, they replied by sending same spam ,10 times in a row to me every day, it finally did stop. i just kept deleting it. good luck to ya.
