Can you get Ritalin without a presciption?

I am 48 years old, and post-chemo for Lymphoma. I have NO energy and I gained a ton of weight, due to the prednisone in my treatment. I also have 'chemo-brain'. [cognitive impairment following chemo] My treatment was two years ago, and these symptoms are NOT going away. I'm still gaining weight at a slow rate, no matter what I do. I also have chemo-induced menopause.

So, I'm FAT with NO energy to exercise. I barely make it working 8 hours at a desk job. My doctors will not give me anything to help speed up metabolism, increase energy, increase mental sharpness and lose weight. I know it's my responsibility to exercise and eat right. I'm doing ok with eating [though I'm still gaining], but I have NO energy to exercise and everything hurts or causes soreness.

I have read and heard that Ritalin in adults can alleviate some of these things. I.e. can help with metabolism, energy, and metal sharpness. If this is true, how do I get some Ritalin or a prescription? Thanks.

As everyone else already stated, you do need a prescription for Ritalin. It is a controlled drug, so not only do you need a prescription, they send a copy of your accepting the drug to State authorities; possibly even Federal. Basically whatever the procedure, the government keeps a record of everyone who has a prescription for ritalin, so that person doesn't get more than one prescription from different doctors, etc. That's because this drug can be abused and a person can become addicted to it and it has to be monitored, so you must be under a doctor's care. Plus, it is not meant to be a weight loss pill or something to increase you energy.

If you want to lose weight, take CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) made by Tonelin. This helps your body to naturally burn off fat cells.

For physical and mental energy, you can take Ginkgo Biloba. Ginseng is great for increasing physical energy. You should also be on high dose multivitamin that is high in antioxidants since your body has been through so much.

For your chemo brain, taking high choline Lecithin 2 - 3 times a day will begin to feed your brain. It helps to prompt acetylcholine in the neurotransmitters of the brain, improving memory. Fish Oil can also be taken, but not one or the other; both.

If the chemo caused you to have some necrosis, you can take Alpha Lipoic Acid. I don't know why, but it helps to repair the nerves. This actually will also support your brain as well.

You should probably also take Flor Essence because it will help to clean out the toxins that are built up in your body and brain so you can feel better and function better.

Juicing 1 to 2 times a day with ORGANIC fruits and vegetables will revitalize you. As I have stated before, I actually felt like I got a blood transfusion afterward and could feel the life surging through my body.

This will help your ability to begin to exercise. They say if you briskly walk 5 hours a week, it decreases the chance of cancer coming back, plus it will have the added bonus of helping you to lose weight.

You want to stay away from sugar, not only for the weight, but also cancer thrives on it and it saps out your energy. It will work against you. I'd also stay away from sugar substitutes that aren't natural. There's one that is all natural from Central and South America called Stevia. You need a lot less of it and it won't have any adverse affects on your body or compromise you for possibly getting cancer again.

I have a few links below that might be of help to you.

You are in my prayers. Good luck...

I was a pharmacy tech, there is no such thing as "the government keeps a record of everyone who has a prescription for ritalin" it would be against HIPPA violations, get your facts straight. Secondly, there are ways to get ritalin online, however it's not legal and you run the risk of trouble.
