The bird's nose, known as the cere,is the way to tell the difference. A male's cere will be dark blue or purple.A female's cere will be light blue, pink,or tan-pink,or a combination of those colors. You need to wait till the bird is around 6 months old to really figure out its gender.

You need to go out and buy a pet care manual on your birds so you have this information as well as other important information at hand, always. Also try getting Bird Talk magazine.
