If werewolf movies are your thing, check out "Dog Soldiers", an original, very well done horror flick. Certainly in the top 10, IMHO.

Vampires, definitely the original "Salem's Lot" although it wasn't a feature film, but a mini-series on television. They condensed the 2, 2 hour episodes into a 4 hour movie, for the DVD release.

Ghosts- the first Amityville Horror is alwyas a good choice. The original Japanese version of "The Grudge" is superb as well.
