The best foods for dogs are those made for dogs. If you have a dog older than a year, you should feed him/her twice a day. You should feed a mix of dry food/wet food. Then a dry food meal. The dry food helps scrape tartar off your dog's teeth, but brushing is also necessary. People food is not recommended as it causes digestion problems and gas. Occasionally, it is okay to feed a dog a little bit of chicken or ham, but mix it in with their regular food.
I would suggest you give your dog some Nylon chews. NOT RAWHIDES! Rawhides are bad for dogs, as are greenies. They have been known to bunch up in a dog's digestive system. Just be sure you don't give too many treats or your dog will pack on the pounds.
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT feed your dog: garlic, tomatoes, brocolli, nuts, chocolate, alchol of any kind, cabbage, onions, or raisens.
