What is the best treatment for psoriasis? Either home remedies or medical not picky.?

Sea Salt, it works great. You think it will make it worse because it stings a bit but it really heals. Get the good grainy kind with oil mixture.

ELIDEL cream is the known medication thats specific for psoriasis. It's only available on prescription.

It depends on what part of your body that you have the psoriasis. For the body, not scalp, my son uses BETAMETHASONE, it is a cortasone cream available only on prescription. It works well, but you must make sure you only use it on the affected areas as it can thin the skin. For the scalp, a shampoo that contains tar is best. Some come in a shampoo/conditioner combination. One that comes to mind is TGEL. There is another one, but I can't think of the name. If I think of it I will add it on. Cheers

My bro used Nutragena T-Gel and it worked great! I have also heard, but havent seen tried, that vinegar works as well.

There are a lot of steroid creams that you can use but they treat the symptoms more than anything. The Eladil cream is the only one that is supposed to help suppress outbreaks and treat them at the same time. Some people believe in UV therapy but if you have a serious case you will want to be under a doctor's care. In some people they can get psoriatic arthritis and that's way bad.

Give blood.
I suffered psoriasis very badly. I had the rash all over my body and each time I moved the skin would break.

I started giving blood and the condition cleared within 2 months.

Seems I had excessive iron in my body causing the psoriasis.

Try it. No drugs and no harm done if it fails.

Elidel. It's very expensive unless you have a presciption coverage, but its the best. In between break outs Emu oil is really good.

I personally have EXTREMELY bad psoriasis in my scalp and have a medical shampoo for it that is just called psoriasis shampoo its a miracle worker most of the time... if you have it in other places like arms legs and etc. just use types of ointments labelled "intensive healing" but dont get store brand its not worth it, get St. Ives and lay out in the sun. Also Avon beauty has these sea products that are from reefs, those will worker really really well.

My brother had that for almost a year. Now, this might sound kind of gross, but normally psoriasis is caused due to parasites. Try doing a deep cleanse, like for your liver, colon, and kidneys. Avoid using strong antibiotics, as they only will weaken your already too weak immune system (which is caused by the parasites your body is trying to fight). I suggest using herbal remedies. Also, chlorine at a public pool will give your uncomfortable feelings temporary relief, but you might get interesting looks from other people there. lol Hope this helps. There's a good book about all this, but I can't remember the name. Try googling herbal remedies for psoriases or something to that affect. Sorry, and I hope this helps. :-)

I have psoriasis, i am a pharmacist also, so the best answer i could give to you is that you better go to a dermatologist, because home remedies a lot of times just makes skin worse. I've been trying with a new medicine called DESONIDE, maybe that could help, it helped me. But first ask your doctor.

I have excellent results with using Neutrogena T-Sal shampoo or the Kroger Grocery store brand clear knock off of it at half the price. The necessary active ingredient is salicylic acid. If you go with the Brand name T-Sal works much better for my psoriasis than does the T-gel formula which has a different active ingredient.

I have tried many many treatments and shampoos over the past 40 years, and this, and or a clean healthy diet and raw fresh carrot juice have been the best treatments out of all. The fact that they are inexpensive, and readily available is a bonus.

Ive had psorisis since i was about 8, im 29 now and find that a now "over the counter" product is great, it's called EUMOVATE, for psorisis in the hair i find using head and shoulders really good and now that they have the conditioner too its really working a treat.

For general skin care - including psoriasis and scaly skin and dandruff, try rubbing in a liquid vitamin E using a cotton swab. It seems to cure some breakouts and calm others down. For example, Rite/Aid sells one called 'E Vitamin Skin Oil' with 4,000 IU vitamin E. It is made of safflower oil and vitamin E Acetate.

Put it on at night and cover with cotton if necessary so you don't get the oil on the bedding. Wash off with a clear mild soap in the morning before getting dressed. For the scalp, you can leave it on if you don't put on very much so as to not look oily. Don't use much. What doesn't rub in can be wiped off with a dry cotton cloth.

Hi, my fiance had psoriasis really bad, and it made him have trouble doing anything. he went to a skin specialist (you can only get a prescrition from them) and got a tablet called neotigason, the only problem is there are side affects. and if your not on a health care card or anything like that it cost around $400 for a box of 100. I use nutrigena t-gel on mine along with sulfur sulfacetamide mixed with vitamin e oil. I also tan 3 times a week instead of the expensive UV therapy.
