Sometimes a persistent bladder infection could actually be something else, like chlamydia. You might need a stronger, broad-spectrum antibiotic like Cipro.

For the past 6 months, everytime I have intercourse, I end up with a UTI 4-7 days later. My urologist told me that this is more commom than women think but the good news--it runs in cycles. In my case, I'm only take just one 1 110mg capsule immed after sex to keep the onset of a UTI. so so good

The drug is used primarily for UTI (Urinary tract infections). Actually it's an "old" drug- it's been around quite a while (Cipro and Levaquin are more commjonly prescribed these days for UTI). Common side effects can include nausea, anorexia and dermatitis. The biggest side effect one should watch for is pulmonary distress including acute, subacute and chronic pulmonary reactions. Hepatic reactions have been reported but are rare.
