What ever you are studying at that moment daydream about what you're talking about or pretend you're on a show and must answer the question that the teacher asks. This might help.

Try to read out loudly to maintain your concentration. You are less likely to start day dreaming when both your eyes and ears are involved in studying.

This is a normal problem especially when people do things just for the sake of it or who do things forcefully
I do had the same problem and hence started studying with friends / other members of family rather then sitting in my own private place. This would definitely result in gossip but try to avoid it as most as possible.
In case you are already studying like in the above way, then go into the nearest library and study

When it comes to daydreaming I'm the queen... I even daydream while other people are talking to me, I believe this is because I'm full of ideas and one leads to another and so on.
There is not much you can do about it but you can try taking a little break and then do something else and go back to it after you daydream.

Get interested. Give yourself rewards for accomplishing. Avoid Ritalin and any other ADD drug. Yes, avoid too many starches; eat proteins. Fruits are good sources of energy. Do not eat sugar or high-fructose corn syrup products.
Do not give up daydreaming cold turkey. Daydreaming can be productive, too. Imagining accomplishments can lead to actualization. Just spend more time being really interested in some special subject. Then spread to harder subjects. Give your self rewards for success.
