Depends on how much you want to spend to live in that neighborhood. Mt. Baker (which is south seattle) has a great sense of community there, but it's pricey. Other good areas include Ballard, Columbia City (depends on what area), Greenlake, and the list can go on. I would check out statistics as far as crime goes for the areas. There was a recent article about the neighborhoods in a magazine called "Seattle Metropolitain", perhaps you can do a search online and find it. Good luck!

Probably somewhere on the Eastside, ie Bellevue, Issaquah, Clyde Hill, Medina, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond or Woodinville. The two best academic schools are probably Bellevue High School and Newport High School. Mercer Island is a really good school, I just thought students from there seemed stuck up at times. I grew up in West Bellevue, and neighborhoods like Enatai, Woodridge, Somerset and the like are great for families, lots of kids, community attractions like neighborhood pools and parks. But the whole Eastside is pretty good. Just start looking at places and asking around.
