What time zone is ET? How many hours +/- Greenwich Mean Time?

Hi,
I was just wondering how many hours difference is there between Greenwich Mean Time and ET (Eastern Time, I guess)?? (for example, if you check the NBA website, all their time is listed in ET)

ET ~ East Coast Time(USA)
Eastern Standard Time (EST) = GMT-5.
Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) = GMT-4.
(UK uses GMT in winter)

EST is Eastern Standard and it goes on the east coast (New York, etc...) I believe there are 6 hours time difference GMT, where GMT is 6 hours later.
