Why do they call it Grape nuts?

There are no grapes, no nuts what's the deal?

ItS DEXTROSE silly!
The guy who mad it apparantly wanted to be smart and named it after the nickame of DEXTROSE (not matlose), which is the sugar used to flavor the tiny bits. Back in the ol' days people called that kind of sugar Grape Suger and the called Sucrose (normal sugar), Table Sugar . Then, as the people at the kraft website said, they reminded him of eating nuts, so he named the cereal Grape Nuts, to emphasize that it was supposed to be healthier for you since bothe nuts and Grape sugar where thought to be healthy at that time.

actually there is i think nuts in the clusters besides its easy to remember and anyhow why do the call it Applejacks? to get people talking its all about the advertising.

Post Cereal Grape Nuts is made from natural wheat and barley. It was created in 1897 by some guy named C.W.Post who named it Grape Nuts: "Grape" because it contained maltose which C.W. called "Grape Sugar" ; "Nuts" because of it's flavor. Hope this helps........i remember reading this in one of those useless knowledge books.....haha......they come in handy apparently........

It's crunchy and they make the cereal resemble seeds. I don't know why they chose the name grape nuts but it's great out of the microwave. Just pour some in a bowl, add some milk, microwave it for 1 to 2 minutes and stir. Then enjoy it, on a cold morning or for anther meal on a cold day!
