Simpson's rule?

Hello once again!!!!
Why when using Simpson's rule, must the number of strips used be even?

A~ h/3 (intergral sign) (y0+4y1+2y2+4y3+y4)

h= b-a/n n is the number of strips which is diff. to the function value.

remember.. if starting with y0.. then odd numbers are 4... and even numbers are 2.
