Where can I Learn About How Each State Got its Borders?

I've often wondered how the borders for each state were determined.

I suppose you could research the history of each state - some borders are obvious (rivers), while others are lines of latitude and longitude. Once you get past that, there probably aren't many other reasons.

I would research it on a GEOGRAPHY website.

When in doubt, bring the books out!

You are SO LUCKY to have access to the Internet for information! "When I was your age"....I had to rely on encyclopedias to find anything about the world around me.

Computers really have made a HUGE impression in education!

When I needed information, I had to go to the library and check out books on it. Not only was this an inconvenience but also a back-breaker!
