patzky99 again stumps me with his answer! Anyways, here is my answer-
I ask because-
- I really am confused about what the fact really is.
- I know the answer but, I'd just like to know if people really know what I know. (er.. basically I just want to test their knowledge).
- I have some interesting information OR a thought OR an idea to share with the people. In a way, asking about it can be considered just like a kid running all over the place to show off that he's got the candy.
- I have an idea or a fact that I'd like people to interpret their way.
- Someone just dispelled my theory or idea as incorrect/ false/ illogical and I'd like to find out the truth.
- I have a question that I THINK is a great question and people would really have fun answering it. I mean the "wow, why didn't I think of that question" type of questions.
- I am having problems troubleshooting a machine.
- I am having trouble "figuring out" something.
But, there are other common reasons of asking questions too. So, here's why I THINK some other folks ask. They ask when sometimes-
- They have an emotional dilemma and would like people to help them out.
- They have a funny idea/gimmick and would like to see how it turns out.
- They'd just like to express what's on their minds. They are either extremely angry, thrilled, overjoyed or amazed and would like to share it with the world by asking about the topic that matters to them.
- They are simply bored.
