Should formal prayer in schools be prohibited?

NO. Formal prayers are fine. People who don't want to engage in the prayer do not have to.

If it is required, yes. If a kid wants to pray before taking a final, go for it.

seperation of church and state keeps forced prayer out of public schools. -- In a private school that will have different rules.

I'm not against God. I am however a believer in separation in church and state. If you wish to experience formal prayer in the classroom, why not a Christian School.

I know that public schools have Christian organizations that meet before, during and after school for prayer with no problems.

Moments of silence can be used for prayer.
