I used to read the LJB's, but got tired of them about a year ago.
I found JQ's attitudes to be somewhat elitist, and it started to bug me. That and the fact that I just got tired of the story lines. AND the fact that the author never updated her picture! Silly, I know, but that bugged me too.

I've read Braun's series, but not the others.

These cats don't solve mysteries, but they are warriors that have their own ancient prophecy too fulfill!
Warriors, books 1-6: The main character is Rusty who later on in the series will be called Firepaw, Fireheart, and Firestar. His best friend is a cat named Graystripe. He started living with the warrior cats in the forest after he chased a mouse into the forest and met Graystripe. He used too live with humans instead of being a warrior.
The villain is Tigerclaw later too be called Tigerstar. He is a murderer, lier, and deceiver. On one book he wanted too be leader so first he killed the deputy Redtail. Then he killed many more cats. He set a dog pack on the warriors. He became leader of Shadowclan. He made the dog pack kill the leader called Bluestar. He teamed up with evil cats called Bloodclan in book 8. Well, at least he got killed in book 8 by the Bloodclan leader Scourge.

I've read some of all three. I really liked Koko & Yum Yum. But then I just got tired of the story lines. I love cats but there's only so much a cat contribute and soon they all seem the same. There's a romance novelist that uses the cat solving the mystery convention as well. I want to say the cat's name is Familar.
