In 1920, the association with the term HOG started because the Harley-Davidson racing team carried their mascot, a pig, on a victory lap after each won race.

Actually, Harley Owner's Group (HOG) chose the name because Harleys were already called Hogs. They were called Hogs because they were large motorcycles that "wallowed over the road". At the time, the largest bikes from Europe (before Japanese imports) were 650 cc. Harleys were up to 1200 cc.

- HOG stands for Harley Owners Group. It's a club exclusively for Harley owners. They have different chapters (clubs) all throuought the world. The term was adapted as a nickname for the bike shortly after the club was formed.25% 1 Vote
