What are you trying to run when you get this? If you are trying to watch a video, you may need to re-install or upgrade your Windows Media Player (link 1).
If you are trying to listen to music using Launchcast, see links 2 and 3 for using the Direct X diagnostic tool (dxdiag) to tweak your hardware sound acceleration and see if that helps. Good luck!
