My DirecTV Series 1 Tivo has a USB port on the back. What is it for?

Series 1 TiVos don't have USB ports on the back so you must have a Series 2 one. If it's a DIRECTV DVR with TiVo (it would have the DIRECTV logo on the front), the USB ports are not enabled by DIRECTV. If you are comfortable hacking your hardware and software, check out the TiVo Underground part of www.tivocommunity.com for information on how to enable to ports and use network enabled features. Do a search on the forums there for "usb DIRECTIVO" for best results.
