I don't remember my exact age, but when I was little my Uncle had a Nintendo. He had the original Final Fantasy and I used to play it for hours when we visited their house. My parents wouldn't let me get one, assuming (correctly) that I would want to play video games and do little else.

I still love the fantasy genre, especially in video games. When I look at the incredible CG, graphics and complex story lines I have to marvel that something so simple as the original Final Fantasy kept me enthralled. I used to love playing Super Mario Bros. 3 with my best friend in junior high as well.

I suppose to me Nintendo means something long-lasting and fun. I have a Nintendo DS today, and I enjoy playing it even though I'm an adult now. I also have an original Nintendo 8-bit system that a friend gave me when he no longer wanted it, and it still works perfectly. I love how something that old can still work after all of these years.

(Oh, and I had the original "brick" Gameboy, a Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, Gamecube and a Nintendo 64...haven't purchased a Wii yet but if there's an "Animal Crossing" or "Harvest Moon" I may not be able to resist.)

I was 5 or so and my first console was a SNES, my 1st videogame was Super Mario World and 2nd was Contra III: The Alien Wars. It means fun for and actually, Nostalgia, I miss those days, when fun was over violence.

Nintendo is and will be #1 for me, and Sony my #2.

I was 6 or 7 and I remember fondly Robbie the robot and the game Gyromite, he was an interactive part of the game, he would pick up spinning tops and set them on platforms that depressed levers onto the number 2 controller's A and B buttons opening doors for your character on screen!
Also the first football game I remember playing 10 Yard Fight, quickly surpassed by Tecmo Bowl. and the first basketball game I remember Double Dribble. Excitebike! Contra! Ikari Warriors! 1942! Mario! Zelda! TETRIS!!!
The name Nintendo brings up great memories of family time and kids time and mom and and dads time seperately (my mom loved Tetris and Zelda, my dad Tecmo Bowl then Madden, together we used to play Ironman Stewarts Off Road-4 players!) hangin out with other kids and sharing tips and tricks for our favorite games... Strangely to this day even though the other systems are perceived as 'better' I'll buy a nintendo first, every time.

I was 8 years old when i received the Nintendo 1st generation game system as birthday present. I still remember it was a grey console like a rectangular box with only 2 A and B red buttons. I also had around 4 game cartridges and Supermario 1 was one of them.
Nintendo meant a new way of playing games, because it revolutionized home entertainment.

The Supermario music brings you back to childhood lol.

I was a young teen back in the 80's

Nintendo - Mario brothers comes to mind. But gaming in general.
I grew up on TV console games and here I am nearing 40 and I still play more video games then my kids. We have a computer room not only with computers but every single gaming consoler and hand held I owned as a kid and my kids games as well. I simply loving playing video games!

First ever console was PONG. That’s right. The black and white Pong and I think it had break out on it. Lost it during a move.

Games I have and still working and playing
    -Odyssey
    -Atari
    -Intellivision
-Coleco vision with the Atari adopter
    -Atari 800XL computer
    -Nintendo – ( own them all )
    -Game cube
    -Playstation 1 and 2
    -Xbox.
-And of course a PC built for gaming.

My all time favorite games are still the classics pacman, donkey kong, frogger, asteroids, pole position, dig dug

I first heard the term Nintendo I suppose around my first birthday. I had recieved the NES as a gift. The name now brings back nostalgic memories of my family and I crowded around the TV screaming at each other trying to get to the last levels of Contra and Super Mario Bros.

My brother was a Nintendo fanatic. So it was from birth that I was hearing the term but probably not until I was about 3 or 4 that i really knew what it was. Of course being a "girl", I was never allowed to play his games like contra and ninja guiden. So I was pretty much left with Mario brothers, Duck hunt, and Super pit fall. Eventually i earned my way up to older brother game playing by the time Super Nintendo surfaced. By the time I had a second brother, the events of my childhood could be marked by game releases. I loved it back then and now a days i will still argue that Nintendo is hands the best video game system invented. All the other fancy ones may be fun and have good games but nothing beats old skool Nintendo when mario didn't have a full color spectrum and pointing a huge orange and grey gun at the screen shooting at ducks and plates. This is one of those cases at least in my opinion where the old skool, surpasses the new.

I must have been 5 or 6 when I first heard about the Nintendo Entertainment System, and man, did my brothers and sister and I want one! Unfortunately, we weren't exactly rich. Somehow, my parents managed to scrape the money together to buy one for us for Christmas. We played together for hours. It really brought our family together.
My brother, Kevin, especially loved the games. He became completely engrossed in them. Unfortunately, some time after the Super Nintendo came out, he was diagnosed with cancer. He could barely move; his legs and back had become very weak from the disease. To keep him entertained, my parents again scrimped and saved, and bought him a Super Nintendo. We played together for hours, almost every day. It gave us a chance to work together as a team, and let us spend quality time together.
The year my brother died, the N64 came out. My oldest brother bought one (he and my sister were much older than us and had already moved out by then), and all four of us would play together. It was one of the few things Kevin had the energy to do. It let us laugh together, and enjoy the time we had.
To me, the word Nintendo reminds me of Kevin, his strength and determination, and the fun we once had together. It was something that helped our family retain its sanity when we really needed it. It kept four siblings, very far apart in age, together as best friends.

I was an old man of 20 . When I heard of Ninetendo from my younger brother of 16 and his friend. Now the name is part of all the wonderful memories. Staying up all night beating games . Laughing and having fun before we all had to grow up and get real lives.

I remember spending the night at my friends house and playing super mario for hours. It was so cool to see who could get the farthest. Especially in Super Mario 3 we would see who could collect the most coins in a given matter of minutes. We had a blast trying to find all of the feathers. Nintendo means good times with lifelong friends

I believe I was around 10 in 1987 when I got the original Nintendo for Christmas. My favorite game, of course, was Super Mario Bros. with Excitebike, Tetris, RC Pro-Am, Galaga and Joust as close runners-up.
I remember the excitement in finding something new, like hidden mushrooms and warp rooms. Back then, we had to figure the game out for ourselves! There weren't books upon books and the Internet for finding cheats! You just had to do it yourself!
I still have my original Nintendo along with the few games I mentioned above. I got my 7 year old son a Game Cube for Christmas, but he prefers to plug in the old beast and play some Mario, old school style. We have to tap and wiggle and blow to get the machine to work, but it's worth it.

I was like four years old and an older cousin of mine was playing a game on the old Nintendo Gameboy. I really didn't know what it was at first and being just a baby had a lot of interest in it but never got to play it because my cousin would hog it. Anyways, a few years later, I remember getting my first Gameboy, the Gameboy Pocket (in blue) and my very first video game, Super Mario Land. I fell in love with it instantly.

Being seventeen years old, right now, the name means "classic fun". Even though I have grown out of playing video games, I can sometimes grab the Gameboy and play Super Mario Land, and still have fun beating it. To me, they are just classics.

I was 7 years old, new to this country. Was living with my mom while she worked as housekeeper. She also took care of a teenage girl who had a Nintendo. Every morning before i went to school I would sneak into her room and play Super Mario and Duck Hunt for 10 Minutes. Always played the same level cause of the time. Mario helped me learn English and also deal with the big change in my life. Nintendo to me means happy times & innocense.

I think I was like 7 or 8. I remember being the first kid on the block with a Nintendo. Didnt no one believe me so I snuck Super Mario Bros and a controller to school to rove it to everyone and got in trouble. The word Nintendo means good times and just being a kid. I have 2 Nintendos but time had got the best of them. I also have an original Gameboy, Gameboy SP, SNES, N64, and 2 Gamecubes. I guess in a way Nintendo keeps me young. I have on display at my house on a bookshelf and all the games.

Ah Nintendo....when I learned the secret of collecting like a million lives in 3-2, and could explore all the rooms at ease with out losing my game, I was the happiest person on the planet. I remember standing in front of the T.V. and moving as Mario moved, jumping, swaying, and leaning into the moves, I never played sitting down. I can not remember a time when I did not know Mario....and Mario Cart...don't get me started....

My God... I can't really remember how long ago that was. I do remember however, being at a mall here in Guatemala called "el Mol" and seeing the first NES and Super Mario Bros on a regular TV. I thought it was quite something and I couldn't wait to get a NES. Now I can't wait to get a Wii cuz of the "Virtual Console". I hope the game "Nosferatu" from the SNES gets to be in the VC's line up soon. As well as every single Castlevania game, yeah!
