I'm a Senior Contributor to This Old House magazine, and I'm here to answer your home improvement questions. I'm also the author of many books and articles on remodeling, and co-author of the widely used textbook “Carpentry & Building Construction.” I was a licensed General Contractor in Oregon and editor of a national construction magazine in Connecticut. I live in a perfectly good house that's a perpetual remodeling project anyway. I'm looking forward to helping you with your own home repairs, maintenance and remodeling.
