Equal parts web strategist, SEO/SEM expert, usability geek, and social mediaholic - my role typically revolves around the planning, creation, optimization, marketing, and community management of web properties.
What I see today, regardless of industry, is a winnowing of stand-pat business functions. Titles and org charts can't possibly capture what it means to fundamentally understand your market, your community, how to listen to the social web or measure online success (or failure for that matter.) I fit the role of someone who's experience and know-how crosses the "cubical wall" if you will.
Web professionals like myself need to be curious about the state of the web, and in keeping with ever-changing technological trends I help companies create websites that perform well, are easy (even fun?) to use, reflect their audience's needs and engage people the right way.
